Each year Iford Arts, with the help of its private Patrons, commissions translations and re-orchestrations of up to three operas. This activity gives young composers/orchestrators an opportunity to develop new techniques and build a licensable repertoire. The cloister at Iford can accommodate orchestra up to 18 but more usually 12 players. This is a suitable ensemble for regular theatres and performing spaces of up to 1000 audience as used by touring companies.
