Paris in the 1860s. Drawn by the great Universal Exhibition hundreds of rich foreigners from all corners of the globe have arrived to do buisness, to ogle at the latest fashions and to devote themselves entirely to pleasure. What better place for a roving Swedish Baron to ditch his wife and plan some marital infidelity? What better place for two young hot-blooded philanderers to pull off a daring prank to dupe him? What better place for a capricious, captivating courtesan to have the last laugh.
Opera della Luna, having made a stunning debut at Iford ten years ago with La Belle Helene, return to Offenbach and this most energetic score. Full cast list.
